On July 29, 2020 , Governor Jay Inslee issued new guidance based on recommendations from the CDC regarding employees at risk for contracting Covid-19.  The governor’s proclamation extends indefinitely, or until otherwise amended, protections provided to employees who are at high risk.  High risk employees are defined as employees age 65 or older, employees who have conditions listed by the CDC as at increased risk or employees who have conditions that might be at increased risk.

The proclamation continues to prohibit requests for medical verification if an employee is 65 or older or has an illness that is considered to be at increased risk to contract Covid-19. The proclamation continues to permit the request for medical verification if the condition is in the “might be at increased risk” category.
