About

Sean Leake is an associate in the Seattle office of Williams Kastner, where he is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation practice group. Sean is a trial lawyer with extensive courtroom experience in state and federal courts representing clients in business and commercial litigation focusing on regulatory compliance, administrative law, shareholder disputes, and banking, and related appellate matters. Before joining Williams Kastner, Sean worked at a small construction litigation firm working on construction defect, bid protests, and breach of contract claims in both state and federal courts.

Sean is a “Double Dawg” having attended the University of Washington for both undergrad and law school. During law school, Sean represented small businesses and low-income individuals in tax controversy proceedings with the IRS and United States Tax Court. During his undergrad years, Sean majored in economics and international affairs, studied abroad in Ireland, interned in the United Kingdom, and was published in the Jackson School of International Studies Center for Global Studies Magazine for winning the “2012 Media Center Film Paper Competition” writing about power dynamics and the economic underpinning of the Irish Revolution and Civil War. Before law school, Sean worked for Microsoft as a paralegal in the fields of international corporate compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Representative Experience

  • Hockett v. Seattle Police Department – Obtained a favorable verdict, after a five-week trial, on behalf of client for $1.325 million, plus attorneys’ fees, on claims of negligence, failure to accommodate, and hostile work environment.
  • Ludwig v. City of Mountlake Terrace – Obtained a favorable defense verdict after a one-week trial dismissing claim that city negligently installed and maintained a waterway.
  • Parisien v. 80 S. Jackson Condominium Association – Obtained defense verdict on summary judgment on negligence and breach of fiduciary duty claims brought by sitting superior court judge.
  • Represented CEO and Board of Directors Chairman of prominent Seattle area construction company in multi-million dollar shareholder dispute.
  • Represented Canadian automobile importer in action by minority shareholder, obtaining favorable defense verdict on eight of nine causes of action after motions practice and three week trial (Court of Appeals endorsed client’s position on remaining claim, remanding remaining claim for further adjudication).
