Williams Kastner in the News

Debora Juarez, Chair of Williams Kastner's Tribal Practice Team, was one of four Indian women to receive the Native Action Network's Enduring Spirit Award on May 10, 2007. The award recognizes the lifetime achievements of Native American women who through their commitment of time, energy and volunteerism, contribute to healthy communities.

Gabe Galanda was just named one of Seattle's Best Lawyers in the field of Indian law, by Seattle Metropolitan magazine.

Debora Juarez and Gabe Galanda were recently quoted in an American Indian Report article, "Remains Bill Dies After Tribal Outcry."

Sharon Haensly, who is assisting the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe with implementation of the landmark inter-local Tse-whit-zen settlement, was recently quoted in a Peninsula Daily News article regarding those efforts.

Land Use in Eastern Washington - Spokane, WA (July 9-10, 2007). Sharon Haensly will be speaking on "Implications of federal, tribal, state and local cultural property protection laws," at this two-day conference focused on new land use regulations, rules and challenges effecting Eastern Washington's local communities, rural areas and local governments.

3rd Annual Emerging Northwest Tribal Economies CLE - Seattle, WA (July 12-13, 2007). Gabe Galanda will serve as co-chair of this two day conference presented by tribal leaders, lawyers and business and policy advisors organized by The Seminar Group. Gabe will be speaking about "Strategies for Successful Tribal Enterprise Development and Protection," and Seattle Member Judd Lees will be speaking about "Tribal Labor & Employment Developments."
