Sheryl J. Willert, Managing Director of Williams Kastner, Contributed to ABA's Statement Regarding Kagan Nomination
In July, 2010, Sheryl J. Willert, managing director of Williams Kastner, contributed to the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary in its statement concerning the nomination of the Honorable Elena Kagan to be Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States before the Committee of the Judiciary, United States Senate. The Standing Committee has conducted independent and comprehensive evaluations of the professional qualifications of nominees to the federal bench since 1948. Ms. Willert served the Standing Committee in the Practitioners Group which is composed of nationally recognized lawyers with substantial trial and appellate practices. As one of Washington State's leading attorneys in employment law, Ms. Willert was asked to review all of Solictor General Kagan's writings and positions on labor and employment matters. Ms. Willert was also charged with reviewing all of General Kagan's appearances on YouTube. Williams Kastner applauds the critical public service provided by the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary.
