Experience:
Jeff Johnson is a member in the Seattle office. His practice emphasizes drug and medical device liability defense, general product liability defense, and the defense of class actions. He currently serves as Chair of the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts Practice Group. Mr. Johnson has tried twenty-five jury trials. Six of those jury trials were over three weeks in length. Thirteen of the cases he has tried involved claims substantially in excess of $1,000,000, the largest being the recent defense of a $75,000,000 commercial case between the two largest aluminum companies in the world. Mr. Johnson has also tried seven arbitrations, including three UIM arbitrations and four mandatory arbitrations.
In 2012, Mr. Johnson was recognized by Corporate Counsel Magazine as a “2012 Top Lawyer in Health Care.” He was recognized by the Seattle Met magazine as a “Top Lawyer” in Litigation for 2010, a designation based upon Martindale-Hubbell’s ranking of those practitioners in King County who have been judged by their peers to be “AV Preeminent”—the highest peer-review rating available. In 2003, Mr. Johnson was named one of Seattle’s “Top Lawyers” by Seattle Magazine.

Mr. Johnson is on the Board of Governors of Business Counsel, Inc. He is a member of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association and was chair of the International Association of Defense Counsel's Class Action and Multi-Party Litigation Committee from 2009 - 2011. Mr. Johnson is also a member of the Washington State Defense Trial Lawyers, the Council on Litigation Management and the Defense Research Institute (DRI), including its Drug & Device Committee.
