John Evans is a member in the Seattle office. He focuses his practice on the representation of property owners whether corporations, limited liability companies, individuals or homeowners associations. He is chair of the Construction Practice Team, serves on the Williams Kastner board of directors and is chair of the Loss Prevention Committee. His recent trial success includes representation of General Metals of Tacoma, Inc in a contract dispute with its general contractor, Bean Environmental, LLC, on an environmental dredging project to remediate the Hylebos Waterway in Tacoma, Washington. Following a five week jury trial in the United States District Court in the Western District of Washington, the jury awarded Mr. Evans’ client $6.37 million for damages sustained as a result of the general contractor’s failure to perform its contract obligations. The decision in General Metals of Tacoma, Inc. v. Bean Environmental, LLC was upheld by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in November, 2008.
Mr. Evans was named to Super Lawyers from 2006 – 2008 and 2011 by Washington Law & Politics magazine, and in 2003 was named one of Seattle’s “Top Lawyers” in construction law by Seattle Magazine.
