Sheena Aebig is a member in the Seattle office and from 1996 - 2000 served as the Chair of the firm's Business, Tax and Financial Services Practice Group. Since 1979, her practice has focused on insolvency issues and related litigation. A frequent speaker on bankruptcy and insolvency matters, Ms. Aebig represents clients in every role of insolvency related proceedings as well as in selected business matters, real estate transactions and commercial litigation. She was named as one of Seattle's "Top Lawyers in Bankruptcy Law" for 2003, 2005 and 2007 by Seattle Magazine, was listed as one of "Washington's Most Amazing Attorneys" in 2006 by Washington CEO magazine, and has frequently been named to Super Lawyers in Washington Law & Politics magazine. Ms. Aebig has also been recognized by the Seattle Met magazine as a "Top Lawyer" in Bankruptcy for 2010, a designation based upon Martindale-Hubbell's ranking of those practitioners in King County who have been judged by their peers to be "AV Preeminent"-the highest peer-review rating available.
Affiliations:
A frequent lecturer, Ms. Aebig has published numerous articles on bankruptcy and property issues. She is a past president of the King County Bar Association's Creditor-Debtor Section and Chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Federal Bar Association of Western Washington. She also served as Chair of the Federal Bar Committee, formed to act as a liaison with the office of the United States Trustee when that office opened in Western Washington. Ms. Aebig is a member of the Creditor-Debtor and Real Property/Probate Trust Sections of the Washington State Bar Association. In addition to her professional affiliations, Ms. Aebig has served as Co-President of the Board of Trustees for the ACT Theatre, a non-profit theater company in Seattle that has presented the best in contemporary work since 1965 and as a member of the Board of Trustees for University Preparatory Academy, an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian day school that prepares high school students for college.
